DAY 4: Onto Salt Lake City!

THIS IS HOW WE SLEEP!
Just like at home, Luna and I can take up "a lot of real estate" as Jason says!

Luna's feeling better since I cut her off from Newman's Own Ginger-O's, Trader Joe's Mini Peanut Butter Crackers and Applegate Farms sliced chicken. These are the things she's been very excited about during our travels. Not so good for her tummy. So it's just food and dog treats. She's pretty ok with that.

PRAIRIE DOGS ON THE PRAIRIE

Not sure that you can see it, but there's a prairie dog in the pet walking area of a Rest Area in Wyoming somewhere. We chose to stop, as many many people did, because the sign read that the next Rest Area would be in 102 miles. That's what we're experiencing with Wyoming - lots of nothing nothing nothing. I'm surprised that the vistas are not more memorable. I mean, I see all of God's creations as having beauty, but I imagined Wyoming to be more beautiful. It is green which I like. Maybe they don't allow many billboards. It's vast. And quiet.

Some other observations from today:

1. Some ridiculous people are driving a U-Haul truck and pulling a trailer with their car on it. Inside the car are 2 dogs. Brilliant.

2. Saw a girl in the bed of a pick up along I-80. Speed limit 75. She had earbuds in and was reading a book while her hair was blowing furiously around her face.

3. I get better gas mileage when I don't use Cruise Control but my butt hurts a bit having to keep my foot on the pedal. I might save close to $100 this way though.

4. I'll need to shop at a grocery store and maybe do a little bit of cooking before we head back home. I haven't eaten out once. Just eaten what food I brought: cereal and milk, sliced chicken breast, roasted chicken, meatballs, snacks, stuff like that...

5. I'm not lonely. I'm not hypnotized by the road. I'm simply right here with my Luna.

6. I'm missing My full Pack, but my mood is lifted when I take care of or provide something good for Luna. I think that makes me a true caretaker.

7. Maybe Luna likes being tangled in her seatbelt. She's smart enough to untangle herself. I've seen her do it when we don't have a safe place to stop for 102 miles.

We made it to Salt Lake City and we're much happier with our KOA here.

Planning on the big surprise tomorrow!

Going to cuddle up with Luna and watch some Law & Order.

Let's sleep well tonight Peanut, ok?
