DAY 3: From Nebraska to Wyoming to Colorado

IS LUNA READY TO GO OR JUST READY TO GO HOME?

Cutie Pie Luna-tic decided to wait for me in the car as I packed up our stuff in Nebraska.
She really is such a great travel companion. She's sweet and fun and easy to get along with. Something I've noticed is that I thought we might become closer because of our 24/7 together and the adventure we're on, but actually, Luna and I are already really close. We don't need an adventure to become closer, it's because we are close that we can enjoy the adventure together.

Her tummy isn't enjoying everything though. I think I've given her too many Trader Joe's Mini Peanut Butter crackers.
My best decision in what appeared to be overpacking was to bring our own water. It's been awesome.

I happen to be missing the rest of My Pack pretty badly today...I have found through my years of traveling that I hit my limit of being away from Jason at 3 days. I've gone to some beautiful locations and stayed in luxurious accommodations. That doesn't change that I miss Jason after 3 days. I'm obsessed with more than dogs... Right now I miss Jason and I miss My Satchel and My Koko. Jason reports that Satchel and Koko are doing great! Now that makes me happy. Jason though misses me too...

A WAL*MART ADVENTURE

We had extra time today - short drive - so we used it. While Luna and I adore each other, Luna does need more human contact than me to be completely herself and happy. I needed a new One Touch monitor and Luna needed some contact, so there was Wal*Mart to meet all of our needs. Whew.

NEEDED SOMETHING TO DO

Arriving in Colorado was an unhappy event actually. We've hit our first and hopefully only unhappy moment of the adventure. Not a good KOA representative here in this unnamed city. Sweet people, and the bathrooms seem clean, but oh, the grounds are filthy and it is of course raining right now. How do I occupy my sweet Black Lab who's been in the car for several hours with only Wal*Mart as her mental and physical stimulation? She gets a big ol' bone to clean her teeth on. Unhappy turns back to happy. But I can't come back to this KOA on the way home. I'm scheduled to. I've paid for the reservation, but it's smelly and feels icky and I'm worried we're going to smell and all our things are going to smell...we're on the edge of someone's horse farm. Anyone who knows a little about farms knows you put the smelliest things like the pigs and the chickens and the horses and their hay kind of far from your house if you can. Those things can all be pretty smelly. These horse farmers have put their smelliest things at the edge of their property which is right here at the KOA. I can't arrive in Salt Lake City and surprise a friend smelling like manure. I just can't. Please let us not smell tomorrow.

IT IS PRETTY THOUGH RIGHT?
