Life has been busy for dogs at Casa Curtin-Hess, but we all had to take a quick break to tell you something Very Very Important:

TODAY IS SATCHEL'S BIRTHDAY!

Satchel was born at the Humane Society, or brought there soon after his birth, in 1994.

The world has been blessed with his endearing quirkiness for 15 YEARS!

The Sun Always Shines On Satchel

His regalness, His sweetness, His strength, makes us smile each day.

We are happiest when he is near.

He may be the most expensive free dog ever, but he's the strongest person we know, and

WE LOVE YOU TO NO END SATCHEL!

You are essential to Us and we are so glad you were born, adopted, and followed the path to make us a Family.

Satchel's Favorite Things

Satchel came to us liking virtually nothing.
He didn't care much for food. He HATED riding in a car - severely car sick. He was jumpy and insecure and anxious - especially about being left alone. The two things he seemed to enjoy were walks and Jason. That was it. Walks and Jason.

Now Satchel has MANY things he LOVES.
Trust me. Jason is still Number One on the list of Satchel's Favorite Things.

As soon as his beloved Jason puts on some 'landscaping clothes,' Satchel MUST go outside!
Satchel's Two Most Favorite Things: Jason and Yardwork With Jason

For the dog who is severely car sick, riding in the little dumper is just right.

For a good afternoon nap or a few hours at night, Satchel's absolute favorite location to sleep is the Massage Room!

We've noticed through the years that our Satchel enjoys the extremes.

So how does he lay in the driveway for hours and not overheat?!

Favorite Flavor: CINNAMON!

While he can't stand the vibration of the engine or the movement of the car, Satchel does love to simply sit in the car in the driveway. It's the perfect spot to hang out while Jason digs in the yard!

Satchie happy in the backseat of the Saturn, but he REALLY LOVED that Jeep Wrangler!

He loves babies of any kind. Any human baby in a carrier will have wet feet...Satchel sniffs their feet until they're soaked! Canine babies are interesting and obsessed over as well.

Our little family has a Perfect Place. For us, it's Glen Arbor, Michigan. Satchel doesn't enjoy travel, but he has always loved bobbing for minnows in Lake Michigan. Isn't he beautiful?

IT'S KOKO'S BIRTHDAY!

We can't know Koko's 'true' birthday.

She was adopted from the Humane Society in 1995 where it was estimated that she was about 1 year old.

Since she came to live with The Pack over the 4th of July holiday 2 years ago, I decided that The 4th of July would be Koko's 'Chosen' Birthday.

Today, Our Kokies is 15 YEARS OLD!

She's even more awesome today than yesterday, and I don't know how it's possible, but she's even more adorable.

We celebrate Koko everyday, but today we tell her a few extra times that we are SO glad she was born and came into our Pack Life.

WE LOVE YOU BEYOND MEASURE KOKO AND CAN'T BE HAPPY WITHOUT YOU!
